General information about the internal measuring screw
Because of their measurement accuracy, internal measuring screws are often called inside micrometers and belong to the length measuring devices. They differ in the number of their measuring points. The more measuring points an internal measuring screw can employ, the more accurate is the result.
The benefits of the three-point measuring
The accurate three-point measurement with the FORMAT Digital Inside Micrometer consists of a drilling measurement with a three-line contact. The measuring tip is equipped with three protruding sensors which nestle into the curve of the drill hole.
Accurate measurements at any time
The FORMAT digital inside micrometer is inserted into the test object, e.g. a drill hole. The adjusting screw is rotated until the three sensors are touching the test object. The FORMAT digital inside micrometer is self-centering.
In order to avoid falsification of the measured value due to different measuring forces, the thread is rotated over the slip clutch, also called a stop ratchet. The built-in carbide installed on the measuring surfaces prevents the abrasion of the surface due to friction and thereby helps to avoid future measurement inaccuracies.
Measuring results digital readable
The display of the FORMAT digital internal measuring screw delivers accurate measuring results to the third decimal digit, which is very convenient and easy to read for the user in comparison to analogue measuring screws.
With assistance of a handle, you can switch between a mm-display and an inch-display. The display will automatically turn on as soon as you rotate the reel.
Thanks to the the Absolute-System, there is a key lock for the zero position, therefore it does not need to be readjusted after switching it on. Furthermore, the display includes a preset-function and ABS, thus a possibility to switch between relative- and absolute measurement.
The display of the FORMAT digital internal measuring screw is according to IP65 dust- and waterproof.
All inside micrometers are available both individually and in sets, with an expanding adjusting ring included.
